about

Voluptuous
(2012)
Voluptuous is an exploration of interiors and transformations. The word “voluptuous” is often used to describe a feminine form. As flesh, muscle and fat are distributed around the skeletal structure lend contour, shadow, and ultimately to shape the complete form of the body, in Voluptuous, instead of constructing a form for familiarity's sake, I worked with form as something abstract—as something continually transforming and evolving—like the various stages of insect life.

Voluptuous is dedicated to my departed cat, Lucifer, who spent hours and days quietly contemplating the world's many transformations, and who spent his early years interrupting children's piano lessons by marching across the piano keys. Lu makes a guest appearance in the electronic fields of this recording.
