In memoriam Saida Katie Mitchell-Benson (1969-2013)

Some people have an impact on you that resonates your entire life. Saida (Katie Benson) had that effect on me - the boldness of her spirit, and her ability to express respect for other people. While I have pursued creativity as a vocation, Saida lived creatively and her expression was very genuinely worn on her self. I will always love her undying creative spirit and inquisitiveness, and will miss knowing that her soul isn't out there, shaking up the status quo.

This short little piano piece is a meditation on Saida, the meaning of her passing and, most importantly, the meaning of her life.

Glad to know you Saida, until next time.
